New Lightning Rail Design Announced by House Cannith and House Orien

PASSAGE, Aun. — House Orien, in conjunction with House Cannith, announced a new lightning rail from the House Orien base of operations in Passage. The new rail is based off of the older design concept of the Gorgon. The Gorgon was a cargo rail that had capacity and power to move literal mountains of ore, albeit slowly. The slowness of Gorgon made it a prime target for banditry which ultimately caused service to end in favor of faster rail that couldn’t carry as much.

The concept design was unveiled on House Orien’s flag rail, the Unicorn. This new design uses a dual elemental system to create more power which allows the Unicorn to carry heavier loads at current speeds. Also unveiled was a new class of lightning rail that will use this new design. House Orien is calling this new class, Gorgon Two.

According to design documents, which were given to members of the press, Gorgon Two will be the heaviest lightning rail built by House Cannith to date. As well as utilizing the new dual elemental system, the main body of this class will be built entirely out of mithril. This expensive but necessary choice will allow Gorgon Two class rail to be able to transport even heavier loads.

When asked about the primary purpose of the Gorgon Two class, House Orien spokesperson Chantal d’Orien said, “This new lightning rail will be rolled out primarily as a cargo transport, but given time and proven safety, it may be implemented in passenger service!”

House Cannith spokesperson, Saal d’Cannith said, “House Cannith should have the first model produced and ready for operation in one years time.”
